Date Night Dinner for Two

We all love a night out with our significant other: dining at a nice restaurant followed by some after-dinner drinks, dancing, or a peaceful stroll through town. Sometimes, though, planning an evening at home is a welcome change. Spending a Friday night preparing a meal together and then curling up on the couch with a movie is a perfect way to reconnect after a stressful work week.

At Betty James, we have scoured Pinterest and curated a delicious and simple menu for your date night at home. Pair these recipes with your favorite wine or craft beer, and you are ready for a romantic evening for two.

This Prosciutto and Goat Cheese Crostini is a delicious way to start your meal. Start with a crunchy baguette topped with a spread of goat cheese and lightly drizzle honey or marmalade over it. You top it off with some prosciutto and arugula, and you have a perfect bite to start your evening.

Main Course

A pasta dish is a mostly foolproof way to create a satisfying dinner without too much fuss. This Pesto Pasta with Grilled Chicken is just that. The pesto and the tomatoes keep the dish bright and light, and the grilled chicken is a perfect lean option. This dish can also be served cold as a pasta salad in the summertime, so it’s perfect year-round and for leftovers the next day.

Dessert is my favorite part of any meal. If you have a sweet tooth, then you can probably relate. This chocolate mousse feels like a decadent treat, but the recipe is actually pretty simple (only six ingredients!). It can be prepared ahead of time and kept in the refrigerator for a day or two, so once you are full of pasta, you won’t have to spend more time preparing your sweet treat.

Try these recipes out this week for date night, and let us know how it turns out!
